Foreword
As opposed to most photo labs, who will enhance the scans for you through sharpening and noise reduction, no sharpening and no noise removal will be done on all images unless specifically instructed.
As opposed to most photo labs, who will enhance the scans for you through sharpening and noise reduction, no sharpening and no noise removal will be done on all images unless specifically instructed.
When adjustments like sharpening and noise treatment are done, you get sharper looking photos but sacrifice some image data/details.
To preserve as much latitude during editing and archiving, most professional photographers prefer to work on the sharpening by themselves in their workflow, so by default we leave the scans unsharpened unless instructed otherwise.
*Images shown have been re-sized to optimize web browers, if not they will be too big at 18mb each.
